Ohio-based headquarters offer growth, marketing opportunities for companies

A Canton, Ohio-based self-service delivery and security system company recently announced that it would be expanding its physical presence with a new global headquarters, a move that it hopes will also benefit its corporate reach and profile.

The firm, Diebold, said it had signed a purchase agreement for a location in Green and would begin construction there pending environmental inspections, government approval and other due diligence activities.

Thomas Swidarski, the CEO and president of Diebold, said the relocation would have positive implications in its operations, marketing and branding efforts.

"The initial plans for our new global headquarters campus will allow us to further align our organization, enhance our ability to recruit and retain top-tier talent and help build a stronger community - all while helping transform Diebold into the true services business we aspire to become," Swidarski said.

Centering businesses in Ohio has been a popular choice for other major corporations as well. Late last year, Wendy's Company announced its plan to condense its world headquarters in Dublin, Ohio, moving 170 of its employees from Atlanta and closing the Georgia-based restaurant support center, The Wall Street Journal reported.
