Audio-Technica celebrate anniversary with marketing new products

Ohio company Audio-Technica has a lot to boast about in its marketing materials this year. The audio product manufacturer recently announced that to celebrate its 50th anniversary, it would be rolling out a suite of five products - including headphones and phono cartridges.

"These are very special products to commemorate this landmark occasion," noted Crystal Griffith, Audio-Technica's consumer marketing manager. "A limited number of each product is available, and each comes with a commemorative certificate. The anniversary products also feature a distinct Audio-Technica 50th Anniversary logo, design and color scheme."

One of the items is a set of headphones with wooden earpieces, designed to be lightweight, rigid and durable. The headphones and the other limited-edition products will also come with a branded anniversary box. Another set of headphones designed for DJs are meant to deliver high-quality bass, midrange and treble sound, and also have swiveling ear pieces.

Releasing a product to recognize a special event or increase consumer interest is a common tactic. Mike Klis, a reporter with The Denver Post, followed the 2011 season of the Denver Broncos, and the story is now available to football fans as a printed book or ebook.
