May 13, 2008 - Cincinnati, Ohio - Busken Bakery and their long-time marketing partner The Creative Department launch an all-new frozen yogurt store.
Generations of Cincinnatians have known Busken Bakery for their pastries, cookies and pies. They’ve also known the bakery for The Creative Department’s amusing billboards and store signs that have become so much a part of the Busken brand. What they may never know is that Busken is behind a brand new frozen yogurt store now open in Rookwood Commons.
Playing off the word “yogurt” and the German words for “yes, good”, the product and store are called Yagööt. Packaging and marketing materials define Yagööt as the original tingly tart yogurt. Two flavors, original – which is light and lemony – and coffee, will be available.
“The fun comes in creating your own Yagööt,” explains president Dan Busken. “There are twelve toppings, including crunchy, fruity and sweet things.”
The Yagööt store, according to its brand description, is designed as an oasis of hip simplicity. Yagööt will also be wi-fi accessible.
“Yagööt appeals to a range of people,” says marketing director Brian Busken. “So we have several unique offerings, including Yagööt shakes, salads, and muffins, as well as the basic Yagööt and toppings. Of course, our friends over at The Creative Department helped us come up with more original names for everything.”
“Oh, we’ve had a blast with this,” says agency partner and creative director Steve Deiters. “We’ve been able to work with Busken to design this brand from the ground up – naming, packaging, in-store displays, a website, ads, billboards, the works.”
Deiters explains that they wanted something fun and friendly, but unique from the Busken identity. “Put a tingle on your tongue”, “How do you Yagööt”, and “Be gööt to yourself,” are some examples of the brand’s voice.
With things looking so promising, Deiters concludes with, “I like to think Busken and our agency are off on another beautiful marketing romp together.”
